  •  Vehicle Overview
39 FN 1963 Jaguar E-Type Lightweight has been created to satisfy the FIA History Technical Passport requirements to enable the car to be entered in all FIA sanctioned historic events such as the prestigious Monaco Classic, Silverstone Classics and Goodwood Revival. Having previously entered into such events, the car has been fully restored to concourse condition at a cost of close to £100k., , With the elevation of the GT class to Manufacturers’ Championship status for 1963 prompted Jaguar to develop a small batch of very special lightweight cars to challenge Ferrari’s mighty 250GTO. , , To create the 1963 lightweight version, the E-Type’s steel monocoque tub and outer body panels were remanufactured and replaced by hand made aluminium panels, spot welded and riveted together. The engine would be a dry-sumped aluminium block version of the 3.8-litre ‘XK’ straight six. The resulting Lightweights were homologated at 960kg dry or around 1040kg with fluids and fuel, with around 340bhp and 280lb ft from a fully rebuilt 3.8-litre straight six making it highly competitive and thrilling to drive. The specification of this car really is remarkable. Based on a 1963 steel tub, the body is fitted with an aluminium bonnet, hardtop, doors, boot lid, rear wings, boot floor and a special roll cage and carbon fiber racing seat. An aluminium radiator and header tank with a modern fan switch and full fire suppressant plumbed cools the engine., , 39 FN is road registered and offered with a current FIA HTP and perfect for any collector who wants to enjoy the thrill of driving and racing a period correct GT car. Prepared with no expense spared and comes with full racing and build/upgrade record. Race-ready for the remainder of the 2019 season, this car is a mouthwatering prospect for the next owner., , Eligible for such events:, , https://youtu.be/QtqL7OIqxsM, Metallic Blue
